Your journey begins with a spectacular landing at Paro International Airport, often considered one of the most scenic airports in the world. As your plane descends through forested mountains, youll get your first glimpse of Bhutans dramatic landscape.

After immigration and baggage collection, meet your guide and begin a 1.5-hour drive to Thimphu. The drive follows the Paro and Thimphu rivers, offering serene views of traditional houses and prayer flags.

Afternoon sightseeing:

• Visit Memorial Chorten, a revered stupa where locals gather for daily prayers.

• Explore Simply Bhutan, an interactive cultural museum showcasing Bhutanese traditions.

• Walk around Clock Tower Square, a lively plaza surrounded by shops and cafs.

Evening: Check into your hotel and relax.

Overnight: Thimphu

After breakfast, dive into the heart of Bhutanese culture with a mix of spiritual landmarks and local life.

Festival Experience

• Visit Tashichho Dzong :This grand fortress-monastery serves as the seat of Bhutans government and central monastic body. If your visit coincides with a local tshechu (festival), youll witness an unforgettable spectacle of masked dances, sacred rituals, and vibrant traditional attire. These festivals are not just performances—theyre deeply spiritual events believed to confer blessings on attendees.

• Stop at Buddha Dordenma: One of the largest seated Buddha statues in the world, it overlooks the Thimphu Valley and offers sweeping panoramic views—especially striking in clear morning or late afternoon light.

• Explore the Thimphu Weekend Market :Best experienced from Friday to Sunday, this lively riverside market is where locals gather to buy fresh produce, spices, textiles, and handmade goods. Its a great place to observe everyday Bhutanese life up close.

Overnight: Thimphu

Depart Thimphu and drive toward Punakha, crossing the breathtaking Dochula Pass (3,100m).

• Stop at the iconic Dochula Chortens, a cluster of 108 stupas with Himalayan views (clear weather permitting).

Continue to Punakha, Bhutans former capital.

Highlights:

After breakfast, drive toward the glacial valley of Phobjikha (approx. 2-3 hours), passing through Wangdue Phodrang.

In Gangtey/Phobjikha:

• Visit Gangtey Monastery, an important monastery of the Nyingma school of Buddhism.

• Explore Phobjikha Valley, known as the winter home of the rare Black-necked Crane (Novfeb).

• Walk the scenic Gangtey Nature Trail, an easy hike through forests and traditional villages.

Atmosphere: Quiet, pristine, and deeply spiritual.

Overnight: Gangtey/Phobjikha

After an early breakfast, begin your scenic return to Paro. Approx 6 hrs drive

In Paro:

• Visit Paro Rinpung Dzong, a fortress known for its stunning architecture.

• Explore the National Museum of Bhutan, housed in a former watchtower, showcasing Bhutanese art, history, and culture.

• Enjoy a relaxed evening stroll in Paro town, browsing local shops and cafs.

Overnight: Paro

Main activity:

• Hike to Taktsang Monastery, Bhutans most iconic site.

  • Duration: 5-6 hours round trip

  • Experience: Forest trails, prayer flags, and breathtaking cliffside views

  • Legend: Guru Rinpoche is said to have meditated here after arriving on a flying tigress.

Evening: Relax or take a final walk around Paro.

Overnight: Paro

Depending on your flight schedule:

• Enjoy a leisurely morning in Paro.

• Transfer to Paro International Airport for your onward journey.

Cultural Considerations:

Respectful attire for monasteries.

Easy Slip-on shoes(you will remove them often).

Small amount of Cash(Ngultrum)

We will process all clients visa applications, which typically take about one week. To proceed, we require a passport copy with at least six months validity, along with a passport-size photo, before the trip begins.

Once the e-visa is approved, we will forward it to you. Please ensure you carry a printed or digital copy while traveling to Bhutan and present it upon arrival at Paro Airport.
